Latin for incomparable, unprecedented, or ‘only’, Unicus represents the Okanagan Valley’s first release of Grüner Veltliner. Harvested from Margaret’s Bench, one of the highest vineyards in the Okanagan, Unicus displays aromas of mineral, citrus, and peach, and is supported by generous weight and distinctive white pepper and grapefruit flavours, Unicus embodies Culmina’s effort to create wines of outstanding originality, interest, elegance, and style.
Harvested from the third crop of Riesling on Margaret’s Bench, and Latin for pretty, fine, or adorned, Decora is an intensely focused Riesling that whets the palate with lively acidity. Showing chalk and grapefruit aromas, Decora displays pronounced flavours of delicate spice, stone fruit, and white flowers, creating a wine of outstanding vibrancy, delicacy, and finesse.
Bleeding off a portion of juice from the Hypothesis must, Culmina’s Saignée is a bright and characterful rosé from select Bordeaux varietal micro blocks on the Triggs’ family estate. Subtle mint, herb, cantaloupe, and mineral aromas coalesce with nuanced, savoury strawberry fruit to form a classically-styled rosé reminiscent of its bigger Hypothesis sister; one of outstanding vivacity, beauty, elegance, and style.
Sourced entirely from vines planted in 2010 on Margaret’s Bench, Dilemma is an elegant Chardonnay with aromas of ripe Meyer lemon, Okanagan peach, and subtle clove spice. Soft peach flavours are followed by a concentrated, mineral driven palate, taut with fresh citrus fruits. Classically structured with restrained oak, the finish is bright, long, and chalky.
A classic expression of Cabernet Sauvignon with aromas of ripe blackberry, fresh sage, and cloves accented by a floral lift. The refined palate is mineral driven with a supple texture, bright currant flavours,and well-balanced toasted oak. The finish is long, charming, and persistent.
Generous aromas of ripe black plum and violets are complemented by subtle nutmeg and cinnamon. The dense, plush palate reflects the gravel minerality of Arise Bench with juicy wild blackberry flavours and integrated toasted oak. Elegant and well-structured, the finish is long and pronounced.
Deep in colour and intensity, Hypothesis represents the Triggs’ culmination of efforts to create an icon quality wine from select micro blocks off their Golden Mile Bench estate. A rich, bold, and terroir-driven blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc, Hypothesis displays abundant spice, floral, and dark red fruit aromas, enveloping the palate with its dense structure, toasted oak, fine tannins, red plum flavours, and a long, persistent finish, to create a wine of outstanding power, beauty, elegance, and style.
