So much has happened since 2007 when Culmina began as a mere twinkle in Don and Elaine Trigg’s eyes. Since then, temperature probes have been placed, data has been collected, and property purchased. Rocks have been cleared, irrigation ditches have been dug, and earth has been deep ripped. Soil pits have been excavated, terroir evaluated, and vineyard blocks mapped. Vines have been planted, grapes have been tended and crops anticipated. Buildings have been constructed, wines have been crafted, and doors have finally been opened!
After years of preparation, Culmina launched on August 23rd, 2013. To celebrate the occasion, Don, Elaine, and Sara invited their best friends and family to the winery for a special event in September. Five local chefs including Chef Brock Bowes of the Sonora Room, Chef Jeff Van Geest of Miradoro, Chef Natasha Schooten of Terrafina Restaurant, Chef Jonas Stadtlander of the Watermark Beach Resort, and Chef Paul Ceconi of Brodo Kitchen prepared an extraordinary dish to pair with one of Culmina’s wines, creating a gastronomical event of memorable proportions.
