Unicus takes Gold at Decanter World Wine Awards!
Culmina is delighted to be able to add five more award-winning wines to our list of accolades!
Held in London, Decanter is the largest wine competition in the world, with over 18,000 entries this year.
Unicus was among only 10 wines in Canada and 4 in British Columbia to receive a gold medal.
The 2020 vintage of our iconic Grüner Veltiner wowed judges, earning a top score of 96 points.
“Inviting and aromatic, with a pretty nose of white pepper, a touch of smoke and bright, fresh green apple, then moving on to a textured palate layered with a lifted, bright acidity and a zesty orange peel finish.”
Other wines awarded were:
2017 Malbec (91 points ~ Silver)
“Opulent black forest fruit, coffee and violet on the nose; palate of kirsch, liquorice, sweet spice and cocoa.”
2017 Cabernet Sauvignon (89 points ~ Bronze)
“Opulent nose of dark berry and cherry, then a smoky palate of black pepper and spice.”
2017 Dilemma (89 points ~ Bronze)
“Plush aromatics of yellow plum and greengage, then to a mineral palate of melon and a crisp acidity.”
2016 Hypothesis (87 points ~ Bronze)
“Plush nose of cigar box, prune and cassis, while the palate is graced with coffee and lifted herbal notes.”
Congratulations to Jean-Marc and his team!
