N° 015 Wild Ferment Viognier
Golden Mile Bench
Produced from Viognier exclusively from a 0.15-acre southeast-facing micro-block on Stan's Bench.
CLONE & ROOTSTOCK
1042 & 101-14
Produced with minimal handling techniques, RO block Viognier was harvested in early October, then basket pressed with minimal sulphur additions, and then left to ferment wild for 64 days. Following fermentation in neutral French oak barrels the wine was left to mature for 5 months before being bottled unfiltered.
The No.015 in the Number Series is a hedonistic expression of Viognier, with honeycomb, custard, and orange blossom aromas complemented by notes of jasmine, lanolin, and ripe pear. The rich and creamy palate is full of vanilla, white peach, and passionfruit flavours, with refreshing acidity and a long, well-balanced, spicy finish.
